The Durham Farmers’ Market hosts several seasonal events including our Tomato Tasting Day, Halloween Vendor Costume Contest, and much more. These events are designed to be fun, educational, and help connect food-lovers of all ages to local food.

Eyes on the Pies Contest!

Attention bakers, DFM shoppers, and pie lovers! We are hosting our first ever Pie Baking Contest on Saturday, December 16 on the market lawn. The contest is open to anyone interested in entering, and all customers are invited to sample the pies and vote for their favorites! The categories are: 1. Best sweet pie 2. Best savory pie 3. Best use of local ingredients/ best overall To enter the contest, simply show up on the 16th at 10 am with your masterpiece. We will provide an entry form and slice up samples for everyone to enjoy. We strongly encourage you to source your ingredients from our local farmers as much as possible.

Holiday Market!

Join us for a special Holiday Market on Saturday, December 23 to pick up everything you need for your Christmas feast! Our vendors are excited to share their locally grown produce, meat, cheese, eggs, baked goods, crafts and much, much more with you. We hope you'll have a local meal this Christmas and wish you and your families a very happy holiday season!
