Catbriar Farm

Catbriar Farm is located less than an hour’s drive from Durham, Chapel Hill and Greensboro in scenic Caswell County. Graham and Sara were living in mid-town Atlanta in the spring of 1978 when they bought a tobacco farm of 103 acres. More than thirty years later. the farm has grown to over 300 acres including pastures, planted pines and hardwoods, ponds and the garden. They believe stewardship to the land begins with hard work and dedication.

Over the years they have raised chickens, sheep, goats, and beef cattle. (Oh yes, and two wonderful children – Rebecca and Russell) Graham bales hay for the cattle and to sell to neighbors. The garden has evolved from a family sized plot for freezing and canning to a full-time endeavor for Graham and Sara's retirement.

Graham began coming to the Durham Farmer’s Market in 2002 with a card table and coolers of asparagus. He quickly earned the name “The Asparagus Man”. Gradually more vegetables have been added and Catbriar Farm now offers a wide variety of fresh, nutritious vegetables throughout the entire market season. You can also find many fresh and dried herbs for your special recipes. Graham and Sara are always interested in meeting and talking to customers about Catbriar Farm.
