Month: December 2019

Expecting Beautiful Weather this Saturday

Join us for the last Saturday before Christmas. Many of our farm vendors are bringing lovely handmade items, both to eat and to enjoy in your home. We’ve got hand forged iron work, handmade wooden bowls and cutting boards. There’s colorful pottery and seasonal teas. We have vendors with custom clothing and others with seasonal treats. There will be plenty to choose from and if you can’t find just the right gift on hand, we’ll have Durham Farmers’ Market Gift Certificates at the Info Desk.

New Vendor Applications Have Been Completed!

Thank you for your interest in becoming a vendor at the Durham Farmers’ Market!

We have completed our process for the upcoming season of 2020-2021 for accepting new member applications. We’ve added three new vendors to the lineup for the 2020-2021 Season. They are Crumbs, a Vegan baker;  Red Tail Grains produce flours and grains locally; and Huanong Ecorganic Farm specializes in Asian vegetables. Look for these vendors in April of 2020.

We will reopen the process at new vendors the end of December 2020 for the following season, if we have available spaces.

We are currently reviewing applications for Guest Vendors that we received and we will update this page should we need additional vendors in specific foods.

*Please note that all prepared food items, meat, fish and cheese must meet state and local health regulations at the time of application. If you are a new vendor and have not yet acquired the required licenses/certificates, please contact us prior to submitting your application

Thanks again for your interest in becoming a vendor at the Durham Farmers’ Market!

Welcome to the Winter Market Season

We’re back and ready to roll out colorful produce, proteins, pastries and party favorites for your holiday tables. We’ll start at 10 am with the Opening Bell on December 7th and a beautiful new CrossWalk at the lower entrance to the Pavilion. Come check it out and bring your largest shopping bags. We’ll be here until 12 noon with all sorts of splendid warm drinks to sip while you shop and cool drinks to take home for dinner.

This is our 20th Seasonal Winter Market and we are excited to share it with you. Every Saturday from December until the end of March, we’ll be here from 10-12. Our fantastic and devoted farmers and crafters will be bringing you locally-grown food, fresh flowers and finished food products.

Our craft vendors will be bringing wreaths for the holiday,  hand-made baskets, jewelry, cutting boards, wooden bowls, and rolling pins. Some of our farmers make their own tea blends and salves while others make candied turmeric and special syrups to add to desserts or drinks that you can use at home or give as gifts. We also have clothing that is hand-made and hand-dyed along with pottery and painted gourds. We have two outstanding photographers and one of our  farmers makes small iron pieces for use in your home.

Start some fun new habits with us this December! We look forward to seeing you during our Winter Market Season. Stop by the info desk for info on our Double Bucks program for our EBT customers and we have free market shopping baskets on our Exchange Tree.
