Month: October 2021

Wednesday Market is Closed for the 2021 Season – Saturday Market is Open from 8-12

Wednesday market is closed for the 2021 season!  We have enjoyed this past season together, and are grateful for all the community members who supported our Wednesday afternoon markets!

Follow your favorite Wednesday vendors to keep up with their activities throughout the year, and join us every Saturday from 8-12 to continue supporting the Durham Farmers’ Market community!  *Winter hours are Saturday 10am-12pm starting December 4, 2021*

Thanks to The Museum of Life and Science for providing fun and educational activities for kids at the market!  Also thanks to William Davis and Chris Vitiello a.k.a. The Poetry Fox for their inspired and interactive poetry!  And we are grateful for the amazing Wednesday musicians that joined us this season – Remona Jeannine, Stephan Hermann, and Gary Green!

We are grateful to collaborate with our friends at DINE and The Durham Center for Senior Life for joining us at some of the Wednesday markets to connect with the community and share information about our SNAP / FMNP / and Double Bucks Programs!

Thank you to our amazing volunteers Sheila and Mike!

Vendor Highlight: Bonlee Grown Farm!

Meet Bonlee Grown Farm!

This is Bonlee Grown Farm’s 21 year at the DFM, and they were one of the original 10 vendors, selling a variety of jellies and jams!  They now also sell eggs, succulents, geraniums, and a variety of prepared items easy to store through the winter!  They have expanded to 4 greenhouses and 4 plots since they began and also have sheep! They heat the greenhouses with wood and use the ash on the garden beds to help promote soil health!
