The market is OPEN this Saturday, 8am-12pm!
There is always something new and exciting coming to the tables at the market, whether that is flourishing fall produce, new chocolate truffle recipes, seasonal kombucha releases, cozy take-home meals from one of our chef vendors, or the freshest pastured meats.
One of the best things about shopping at the market every week is the fresh inspiration that chatting with our farmers and creators about their exciting new offerings give us for our weekly meals, our home gardens, and our gift giving!
NC Food Programs at the Market
Something else that makes us so excited to spend every Saturday with you in this unique space is the way that the whole community can come together to support our local businesses and receive essential nutritious groceries. This week we highlighted our SNAP/EBT benefits at the market, and how funds from this program have helped support the market businesses as well as local customers.
Over the last 3 years, DFM customers have spent $67,314.00 on fresh groceries at the market through the SNAP/EBT program! And thanks to Double Bucks customers, $99,555.50 worth of fresh fruits, veggies, meats, dairy, breads, and more has been purchased at our market vendor booths in the last 3 years. That’s a lot of fresh, locally grown goods!
We are thankful for sponsors of the Double Bucks program for supporting local access to foods that grow strong communities and for all the SNAP/EBT, WIC, and Senior Voucher customers that choose to shop at the market and support their local producers.
