A Chill in the Air & Fall Colors Abound!
Well folks, we’ve officially had our first freeze of the season. While we de-frosted our windows and noticed our cold breath on the air, we thought about our farmers, and their crops and outdoor plants. This freeze was a very mild one, but it made us wonder what techniques our farmers are using this year to protect their produce, flowers, and animals from frost, and what cold-hardy delights we’ll see more of as the weather turns. This autumn, we hope you’ll grab your coziest jackets, come sip on a hot coffee, and strike up a conversation with your favorite farmer or creator about what the cold season means for them.
Late market mornings a little busy for you sometimes? Here’s a secret – these chilly fall mornings are the perfect time to get here early, beat the lines, and get your favorite pick of the goodies on offer. Plus, you just can’t beat sunrise over the Durham Central Park, wow.
