Happy National Farmers Market Week, y’all! We’re celebrating the best way we know how…with Wednesday midweek market! With lots of gratitude toward the amazing community effort that is the DFM, and for all the vendors and customers that really make it the wonderful space it is. Thank you!
Speaking of lovely vendors, check out the newsletter below for a recipe shared by Wild Scallions Farm for Dutch Apple Pancake, which looks amazing. They’ll have freshly picked pears and apples today, along with the usual beautiful spread. Piri is back this week with more mouth-watering prepared soups and entrees ready to take home and enjoy, like market favorites Cowboy Caviar and Summer Veggie Casserole. Harland Creek’s figs were looking amazing last week, and now is the best time to enjoy them! All stocked up on produce? Don’t worry, we have farm fresh eggs, chimichurri sausages, barrel-aged ciders, savory pastries, and more to keep your taste buds entertained.
This week, YOGA IS BACK at it’s usual spot in the shade of the pavilion from 4:30-5:30! It has made us so happy to have community yoga at market, and we hope you will join! The class is FREE or pay what you want, and you just need a mat or blanket and a water bottle. Don’t miss it! Stop by the market info table with any questions!
And in honor of National Farmers Market Week, we are highlighting the unique role that farmers markets play in building a sustainable and community-driven food system, and you can check out our social media page for lots of information about the people, programs, vision, and values that make up the market.
Wow, what a week! See you there!
