Located in Chapel Hill, Fricks Apiaries is owned by Guy and Ingrid Fricks. We produce local honey, handmade beeswax candles, and other hive products.

In 2002, Guy and Ingrid, along with their young children, moved to Chapel Hill from Carolina Beach. A former yacht carpenter, Guy soon became interested in keeping bees at a time when beekeeping was a dying art. What started as 2 hives in the backyard quickly became a lifelong passion and a full-time family venture.

These days, Fricks Apiaries manages hundreds of hives across Orange, Chatham, and Alamance Counties, and produces raw honey, bee pollen, pure beeswax candles, all-natural lip balms, and other products of the hive. Fricks Apiaries also raises queens and bees for other beekeepers and offers pollination services to farmers.
